PM launched the National Family Compassion Policy and People’s Wellbeing Insurance Scheme in Ipoh

Also present at the event were the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, WomenFamily and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Saarani Mohamad.
Ipoh City Mayor gives out goodies for staff celebrating CNY
Ipoh City Mayor, Tuan Zamakhshari Hanipah, presented the MBI Prihatin special contribution in conjunction with the 2026 Chinese New Year celebration to 15 MBI staff members at Dewan Azlan Shah, Level 10, MBI Building, yesterday. The event was also attended by Dato’ Mazlan Abd Rahman, Wong Kar Keat, the Chief Whip of the Councillors and Heads of Departments of MBI.
AHF-Raja Ashman Shah Hockey Academy holds three-day hockey workshop
The AHF–Raja Ashman Shah Hockey Academy and the Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Ipoh organised a three-day “Basic Knowledge and Rules of Hockey Workshop” held at the MU Hotel in Ipoh recently. Ipoh City Council: Permits Required for Thaipusam Free Food Distribution

Chandra Sagaran Individuals or organisations who wish to distribute free food and drinks in conjunction with the up-coming Thaipusam celebrations on Feb 1 are required to apply for permits to set up tents only from the Ipoh City Council. According to the council statement applicants need to submit forms with supporting information including MyKad numbers, location of the sites and picture of the location.
MBI plans Tun Razak Library upgrade
In an effort to enhance comfort for visitors to the Tun Razak Library in Ipoh, Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) will be undertaking an upgrade of the air-conditioning system this year. For this purpose, an allocation of RM700,000 has been approved under MBI’s development budget. The scope of works includes upgrading the electrical wiring, air-conditioning system, as well as improvements to toilet facilities.
MBI hosts media night
The Ipoh City Council hosted its annual Media Night gathering at the Ipoh Convention Centre last night, drawing a strong turnout from members of the print and online media. The event was hosted by Ipoh City Council Mayor, Zamakhshari Hanipah, together with his team, marking his first official media night since assuming office. In his opening remarks, Zamakhshari expressed his pleasure at being able to engage directly with members of the media in a relaxed and cordial setting.
