Advanced air mobility: The future of transport is taking off
What is advanced air mobility? Advanced air mobility introduces highly automated aircraft into low-altitude airspace, offering faster, cleaner and more efficient ways to transport passengers and cargo. Equipped with state-of-the-art navigation systems, these aircraft can operate with or without onboard pilots, using rooftops, vertiports and key logistics hubs across a variety of landscapes.

ISO launches public consultation on the world’s first International Standard for net zero alignment today
The Draft International Standard is being made available for a 12-week public consultation period to ISO’s national members in more than 170 countries, to establish national consensus positions by early September. Today’s launch marks a major milestone following almost two years of international negotiations involving hundreds of experts from business, government, academia, civil society and standards bodies worldwide.
How quantum computers work
Quantum computer basics Every computer, no matter how advanced, begins with the same building block: the bit [↧]. It’s almost unbelievable that everything your laptop does – from streaming films to crunching spreadsheets – can be broken down into strings of 0s and 1s. And those numbers aren’t abstract. In hardware, they’re stored as physical states: tiny charges on capacitors, magnetic spots on a disk, or patterns etched into silicon.
ISO 32212:2026 Sustainable finance — Net zero transition planning for financial institutions
This document specifies requirements and recommendations for strategic transition planning by financial institutions, designed to protect and enhance value by supporting institutions’ response and contribution to a global net zero and climate-resilient economy.
Machine learning (ML): All there is to know
What is ML? Establishing a clear machine learning definition can be challenging. Machine learning, or ML, is a type of artificial intelligence that allows machines to learn from data without being explicitly programmed. It does this by optimizing model parameters (i.e. internal variables) through calculations, such that the model’s behaviour reflects the data or experience.
ISO 14001:2026: What’s changed and what it means for your business
What is ISO 14001:2026? Overview of the new edition ISO 14001:2026 is the latest edition of the world’s leading standard for environmental management systems. At its core, it provides a structured framework to identify environmental impacts, manage risk and improve performance over time. The principles remain familiar – risk-based thinking, continual improvement, lifecycle perspective and integration into business processes. What has changed is how those principles translate into practice.
Psychosocial health in the workplace: A critical factor for success
What is psychosocial health at work? Psychosocial health isn’t about personal fragility. It is largely determined by the way work itself is designed and managed. Workload, clarity of expectations, fairness and workplace relationships all play a role. When these elements are aligned, work flows more effectively. People can focus, collaborate and adapt when needed. When they are not, friction emerges. Communication breaks down. Tensions rise.
From reporting to results: Rethinking environmental management with ISO 14001
Focusing on what matters most This is where the strength of ISO 14001 lies. Its flexibility reflects a fundamental reality: no two organizations share the same environmental footprint. Rather than prescribing uniform actions, it requires organizations to identify their most significant environmental aspects and focus their attention where impacts – and risks – are greatest. This risk-based approach is not only more efficient; it is essential.
