Isle of Wight Radio (occasionally shortened to IW Radio) is an independent local radio station in Newport on the Isle of Wight. The station began transmitting from Briddlesford Farm AM transmitter on 15 April 1990. Isle of Wight Radio switched to FM in March 1998, its main transmitter is at Chillerton Down on 107FM, with three low power relays on 102FM in Cowes, Ventnor and Ryde. Source

HM Coastguard was alerted at around 2.15pm on Saturday after receiving reports of a medical emergency on the vessel. Bembridge RNLI's all-weather lifeboat was launched to assist, along with an HM Coastguard helicopter which travelled to the Island from St Athan in Wales.

Man Dies After Fall From Window In Ryde

Emergency services were called to West Street at around 9.30pm on Friday, after reports that a man in his 50s had fallen and was seriously injured. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was sent to the scene and landed at nearby Simeon Recreation Ground. Police also attended and closed part of West Street while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police Appeal For Information After Cowes Assault
Isle of Wight Radio 2 minutes ago 1 min read Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Cowes. The incident happened on Cowes High Street at around 3pm on Saturday, 8 August. Officers say a man approached a group of people he did not know before striking a 37-year-old man. The victim fell to the ground and suffered a fracture to his right knee. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Your Water Matters Event Coming To Newport

The Your Water Matters event will take place at the Salvation Army Hall on Pyle Street on Thursday 10 September. Doors will open at 1.30pm, with the event running until 6pm.

The Partnership has become a member of the Sustainable Food Places network, just over a year after it was launched. Island-Built Britten-Norman Islander Takes To The Skies From Bembridge
A new Britten-Norman Islander has taken its first flight from Bembridge Airport after being built entirely from individual components on the Isle of Wight. The aircraft, which completed its first flight at 2.25pm yesterday (Thursday), is now entering its flight testing programme. Britten-Norman says the milestone is significant because it's the first Islander since 2009 to have its complete airframe assembled in the UK from individual components.
