The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, sometimes abbreviated JAAD, is a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal covering dermatology. It was established in 1979 and is published by Elsevier on behalf of the American Academy of Dermatology, of which it is the official journal.[1] The editor-in-chief is Dirk Elston (Medical University of South Carolina). According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2017 impact factor of 6.898.[2] JAAD has a companion journal focusing on case reports called JAAD Case Reports. Source

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is characterized by café au lait macules, skin-fold freckling (Crowe sign), Lisch nodules (melanocytic iris hamartomas), optic gliomas, and bone deformities. Cutaneous NFs, although benign, have significant psychosocial implications due to pruritus, physical disfigurement, and sometimes pain.

The blood proteomic signature of prurigo nodularis (PN) reveals distinct inflammatory and neuropathic endotypes: a cluster analysis
Prurigo nodularis (PN) is an extremely pruritic, chronic inflammatory skin disease. Little is known about systemic inflammation in PN. To characterize plasma inflammatory biomarkers in PN patients and investigate the presence of disease endotypes. In this cross-sectional study, Olink proteomic analysis was performed on plasma samples from PN patients (n=29) and healthy controls (n=18).

A propensity score matched cohort study identifying an association of acne, but not oral antibiotic or isotretinoin use, with risk of incident inflammatory bowel disease
Concerns remain regarding whether oral antibiotic or isotretinoin use for acne is associated with increased risk of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD); little is known about whether acne itself is associated with IBD. To determine whether isotretinoin exposure, oral tetracycline-class antibiotic exposure, and/or acne itself are associated with IBD.
