It's been a busy year at Yellowstone National Park, as tourist season is in full swing. The first official numbers for the summer of 2026 have been released, and even though it's busy, it's not as busy as last year. June saw 903,025 recreational visits, down 3% from June 2025, when 928,250 people rolled through the gates.

Wyoming's love of guns and shooting is well known, and coming up, those two loves will be combined when shooters from all over the US and Canada are in Casper for the 10th Annual Wyoming Governor's Match at Stuckenhoff's Shooting Complex. The shoot will feature over 300 competitive shooters in a match that includes 12 stages and 400 rounds.

Here's a question I bet you never thought of before. How many roads in Wyoming are named Wyoming? I mean, why would you even ever think of something like that? Well, I did as I drove down yet another road in Wyoming named Wyoming. There is no way to get that thought out of my head until I look it up.

Wyoming hit some record temperatures over this past weekend, and we are not done yet. Here are some of the highest temperatures Wyoming and some other states had as of Sunday. Sunday was a record-setting day. Worland: 110°F. Cowley: 109°F. Hot Springs County & Powell: 106°F. Buffalo: 105°F. Riverton: 104°F. Casper: 101°F. Lander: 102°F, broke a record from 1891. Douglas, Wyoming: 100°F. Cody: 102°F to 105°F depending on where the reading was taken.

The Cure have announced that Simon Gallup, the band’s long-tenured bassist, will not be performing with the new wave icons as he deals with an unspecified illness. The group is currently in the midst of a summer tour across the U.K. and Europe, with dates stretching through the end of August. During the band’s concert in Berlin on Friday (July 10), fans noticed that Gallup was not onstage. In his place, the rocker’s son, Eden Gallup, filled in.

Bon Jovi brought back a pair of classic tracks during their show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday night. The concert marked the third of nine concerts for Bon Jovi at the legendary venue. And while much of the night’s set list followed what was played in the first two shows, Jon Bon Jovi and his bandmates managed to throw in a couple of surprises. The first came a little less than halfway through the performance.

A little more than a year after he was dismissed from Guns N’ Roses, drummer Frank Ferrer has opened up about his previous employer. It was 2006 when Ferrer originally joined the GNR lineup. Initially, it was meant to be a temporary thing – he was replacing Brian “Brain” Mantia, who was taking a break to care for his newborn child. But when Mantia opted not to return, Ferrer was offered the full-time job.

The summer of 2026 in Wyoming is starting to shape up nicely. Cheyenne Frontier Days has announced the dates and entertainment lineup for "The Daddy of them All." Some of the biggest names in rodeo and entertainment are scheduled to be on-site for another incredible year. 2026 marks the 130th Annual Event and is the year of the American Indian, honoring the rich heritage, tradition, and contributions of Native Americans to the American West.

One of my favorite times of the year is when Buffalo, WY, changes its name to Durant and welcomes fans of Craig Johnson's Longmire books, as well as actors and fans of the Longmire TV series, for Longmire Days. The dates for 2026 were just released, and the town's name change will happen from July 16 - 19.

Mick Jagger reflected on getting old, and said there’s nothing good about the natural process. The Rolling Stones singer – who’ll pass his 83th birthday later in July – recently shared his thoughts on aging with The New York Times. But reflections on his matured songwriting skills suggested his thoughts on the matter might be more varied.
