Closer than you may think, thanks to 24 teams from high schools all across the country (including ten from Texas) who will soon be competing in a race across the Lone Star State with solar-powered cars. A team from Wylie High School will be competing in the 30th annual Solar Car Challenge, a five-day, 631.7-mile journey across Texas in a solar-powered car that they built with their own hands.
