If it’s Labor Day weekend, you know what comes next! The annual new iPhone launch comes at you a few days later, like clockwork, every year. Wednesday Apple will introduce what it considers the latest and greatest series of new iPhones, with most of the action expected to be around a new foldable and very pricey phone. Apple will be unveiling its answer to a format that has been around since 2019, but hasn’t captured the public’s imagination in a big way.

With the Easy Reader’s Laura Garber and the great Todd Weiner This is another in our series of behind the scenes stories about the making of a recent Photowalks episode. And today we’re in beautiful Hermosa Beach, which is a tiny, gorgeous beach town 2 miles from my home in neighboring Manhattan Beach, California. I’ve got 12 things to tell you about this one. It all began with the Iron Man competition.

If you’re looking for the classic Southern California beach town—surfers, volleyball players, cyclists, lifeguard towers, a long sandy beach and sunsets over the Pacific—Hermosa Beach is pretty hard to beat. And it’s surprisingly compact. Hermosa is only about 1.4 square miles, tucked between Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach, which makes it one of the easiest Los Angeles beach communities to explore on foot. You don’t need an elaborate itinerary here.

After leaving California recently to check out Alaska, French Lick and Evansville, Indiana and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, this week on Photowalks we turn our cameras towards my favorite next door beach city, Hermosa by the Sea. Learn why summer never ends in Hermosa, there’s always a party and an amazing sunset and how much fun can be packed into just 1.4 square miles.
