The final environmental impact statement (FEIS) for Dragon Springs religious compound expansion was the only item on the agenda for the August 26 Deerpark Planning Board meeting. Michael Morgante, P.E., of Arden Consulting Engineers in Monroe began the presentation by reviewing the project, which includes plans for expanding Dragon Springs Buddhist center with a music hall, parking garages and solar panels.

The MMR vaccine is widely available across Pennsylvania through pediatric offices, primary care providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers(opens in a new tab) (FQHCs), Rural Health Centers (RHCs), the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, pharmacies, county or municipal health departments, or PA’s . Most private and commercial health insurance plans cover the MMR vaccine at no cost, but it’s a good idea to check with your insurance provider to be sure.

The question:  We live in NE Pennsylvania in a wooded area in Milford township. We learned that the township wants to approve the building of a semi truck driving training facility on Route 6 very near the town. There are housing developments on both sides of the plot where it’s being planned. Can you help neighbors state the potential environmental and other risks such a project can pose? Absolutely.

Photo by David Ofshinsky Following the July 10 retirement of long term Deerpark Town Supervisor Gary Spears, a Town Board re-organization took place at the August 10 Town Board meeting. Deputy Supervisor Alan Schock was appointed as Town Supervisor for the remainder of 2026 at a weekly salary of $769.23, which amounts to $40,000 annually, the same rate that Spears had been paid.

Dear Reader, Trouble can happen fast. I was driving down the road to do an errand. My dog was enjoying the ride in the back seat. With a bang, a bigger car stopped my progress, crushing the front of my car. A teen boy appeared at my window, asking if I was okay. Thankfully, I seemed to be intact. I whipped around to see how my dog was. I was relieved to see that she was walking on the back seat amid the deployed air bags.

Photo by Mary Collura In the Village of Warwick these days, you may see summer engineering interns plodding across lawns with pinging metal detectors, followed by Department of Public Works staff on the street in trucks that extend mechanical arms to the places where metal detectors ping most insistently. The truck arms suck up dirt and stones and expose water line shut-off valves.
