Starship JJ Green ship's bulletin

If you downloaded a copy of Redeemer, Space Colony One book eight, or you had it on preorder, many thanks! The book went live last week and did well at all the usual retailers. Which is why I was particularly annoyed at myself for forgetting to lower the price at the ship’s store. It works out best for both of us to sell my books direct to you. I can offer a cheaper price than anywhere else without losing out. That’s why I devote one ship’s bulletin per month to the store.

It’s always exciting to envision the end of a book, and especially exciting to see the end of an entire series. When I started writing Star Mage Saga five years ago I didn’t know how Carina Lin’s story would end. Now I do, and I feel privileged to have accompanied her on her long adventure while getting to know her on the way. Never War, the final book in the Star Mage Saga, is drawing slowly closer to completion.

Another production from the starship is ready, and you can get your shipmates’ discount—for a limited time. The new release is Redeemer, the eighth installment in the space colonization adventure, Space Colony One. I’ve dropped the price everywhere except Apple, which is unfortunately refusing to play ball. Hopefully, the book will go live there too in the next few days and I’ll apply the discount. I thought I was only going to be able to offer you two chapters this week. We had a three-day trip to pick up the cabin boy from Cardiff, incorporating a little sightseeing along the way. Did you know today is the spring equinox? (Northern hemisphere.) I’d forgotten until my neighbour, an optics engineer specialising in telescopes, reminded me. So, Happy Equinox! Things are upbeat on the starship because it’s nearly time for the cabin boy to come home for Easter. The Chief Engineer and I will make the trek across country to pick him up from Cardiff soon. Another reason for feeling good is the second Monster Walk completed at the weekend.

I’m going to be sad to say goodbye to Carina Lin and her mage family for the last time at the end of Star Mage Saga book nine, Never War, five whole years after writing the first book! Is that what’s making me drag my feet at getting chapters down? Perhaps. Nevertheless, I managed to squeeze out three more this week, and part of my motivation was wanting to fulfill my commitment to you in return for your much-appreciated support. So, thank you for that.

As you might imagine, the chief engineer and I lead pretty sedentary lives. Therefore, we’ve resolved to go on a Monster Walk every weekend (weather permitting). Last weekend we marched around Thetford Forest for a couple of hours - pic at the bottom - and the weekend before we walked nine miles around Grafham Water.
