The 74-year-old actor has never won an acting Academy Award during his storied movie career but lamented how a powerful scene from Joel Schumacher's 1996 film -in which he plays a man on trial for killing two white men who abducted and raped his 10-year-old daughter – was cut, denying him an opportunity to claim a gong for Best Supporting Actor.

The Baltimore Ravens announced a one-year deal with free agent running back Melvin Gordon on Friday. The Ravens did not disclose details, but ESPN reported the two-time Pro Bowl selection can earn up to $3.1 million. The deal is pending the result of a physical exam for Gordon, 30. Also on Friday, ESPN reported linebacker Kyle Van Noy was slated to meet with the team. Gordon was cut by the Denver Broncos last November and then joined the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad.

New York Jets coach Robert Saleh said Friday that he expects Aaron Rodgers to remain with the team beyond this season. In fact, Saleh said he'd be "shocked" if he didn't. Washington Commanders cornerback Emmanuel Forbes signed a four-year rookie deal worth $15.5 million on Friday.
