To investigate long-term outcomes of infants who survive despite life-and-death discussions with families and a decision to withdraw or withhold life-sustaining interventions (WWLST) in one neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Medical records for NICU admissions from 2012-2017 were reviewed for presence of WWLST discussions or decisions, as well as the 2-year outcome of all children who survived.

Treprostinil in neonates with congenital diaphragmatic hernia-related pulmonary hypertension.
To describe our experience with treprostinil, evaluate correlations with cardiac function, and assess for adverse effects in neonates with congenital diaphragmatic hernia-related pulmonary hypertension (CDH-PH). A retrospective review of a single-center prospective registry at a quaternary care children’s hospital. Patients included in the study had CDH-PH treated with treprostinil between April 2013 and September 2021.

HIV incidence and death among orphaned and non-orphaned children and adolescents living in family-based settings in western Kenya: a prospective cohort analysis
To compare the incidence of HIV, death, and abuse among orphaned children to non-orphaned children living in households caring for orphaned children in western Kenya. A random sample was taken of 300 households caring for at least one orphaned child in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. All orphaned and non-orphaned children in each selected household were enrolled in a prospective cohort study between 2010 and 2013.
Core Features Differentiate Dravet Syndrome from Febrile Seizures
An 11-month-old with febrile seizures and first unprovoked seizures was evaluated by in the hospital. Relevant history included developmental delay and strong family history of febrile seizures and migraines. A routine electroencephalogram (EEG) was performed and was abnormal due to the presence of a slowed posterior dominant rhythm, generalized spike-wave discharges, and multifocal sharp waves. The findings were concerning for a developmental and epileptic encephalopathy.
