It has been a while since we have been able to celebrate a holiday. The last holiday on the calendar was nearly two months ago when the country celebrated 250 years of independence on the 4th of July. Since then, there have been no holidays for people to enjoy time out of the office, time with their family, or long weekends. That will change this weekend as summer will unofficially come to an end, college football will kick off officially, and we will all get a three-day weekend for Labor Day.

Labor Day weekend is finally here, and many have been looking forward to the holiday weekend. It is a chance to hit the pool one final time, the lake, perhaps the water park, or a chance to catch up on some much-needed rest or take one final trip before summer ends. For those that are looking for something fun to do locally and without breaking the bank, you are in luck. There is a fun and free event happening this Friday in Fort Collins to kick off the holiday weekend that you don't want to miss.

Many of us are tired of bosses and want to be our own boss. The thought of not having to answer to anyone, being able to do what you want, and doing something you are passionate about as you run your own business. It isn't cheap to run a business, but many have a dream of running their own small business. There are many factors when it comes to being successful in owning and running a business, and location is one of the biggest factors.

It is always sad to see a restaurant close in Northern Colorado. Customers are upset that they can't have some of their favorite food anymore, or they have to find a new location to visit if it is a chain. Many places have been closing recently, and they typically do so due to underperformance, perhaps for upgrades, or because a chain has decided to close select locations.

When you think of surfing, Colorado isn't one of the states on the list you would consider catching a wave. Certain characters are iconic in this world. Everyone knows who Mickey Mouse is; most seem to know who Luke Skywalker is, and Scooby-Doo has been around for decades. Some of the most iconic characters in history are those of the 'Looney Tunes'. They have appeared in television shows, movies, and even theme parks. There are many to choose from, and everyone seems to have a favorite.

Do you remember when you were a teenager, counting down the days until you could take your driving test, get your license, and finally drive without your parents in the car? We all dreamed about freedom, going on road trips, and being able to go to our friends' houses without our parents having to take us everywhere.

Smoking marijuana is legal in Colorado, and many decide to take advantage of this law and do so. Some smoke occasionally, some do it socially, and some do it often and at times daily. Everyone reacts differently to doing so. Some can handle it with no problems, some cough dramatically, and others get headaches or don't like the feeling. For those who decide to smoke marijuana, being high can lead to different results.

Hot air balloons are something of a wondrous mystery to me. They are so much fun to watch float across the sky, and I can only imagine what it looks like being inside of the basket of a hot air balloon. For many, taking a ride in a hot air balloon is a bucket list item. Colorado is a beautiful state to drive through. If you want to get out of the house for the day, you can take a beautiful drive and see a lot. You'll see different landscapes, beautiful lakes, mountains, and plenty of wildlife. You never know what you will see when you get in the car, even if you are driving your daily route to work, running errands, or going somewhere for the weekend.
