Milaca Hold on for the Win Over Pine City
Milaca's baseball team traveled to Pine City on Thursday afternoon. Both teams came in feeling like they have yet to play a complete game. Both were fairly good on defense, but the offenses have struggled to get things going. This was an important game for both as it was a section game as well. The Wolves got off to a quick start, with one hit they were able to score two runs to take an early. Pine City was unable to answer back in their half of the 1st.
Braham Defeats Hinckley-Finlayson in Great River Conference Matchup
Braham welcomed the Jags on Tuesday. The Jags 1st inning didn't go well. After only getting one hit from the offense, the defense gave up 4 runs on 3 hits to the Bombers and found themselves trailing early. Once back on offense they again struggled to get on base and wouldn't get another hit till the 4th inning. Credit is due to Alex Rysdam who, much like last year, made it difficult for anybody to make contact with the pitches she was throwing.
Braham Falls to Upsala in Sub Section Championship
The Bombers played the Cardinals on Wednesday night. This was not the first game between these two teams. They had met earlier in the season in Upsala, where the game went into double overtime before Braham came away with the victory 87-85. But this time of course more was on the line, win or go home. Upsala got out to an early 5-0 only for that be to outdone by Braham's 9-0 run. From there on it was an even battle. Neither side was able to pull away from the other.

The Dragons struggles with turnovers continued, but all of the turnovers were coming on unforced errors.
Cambridge-Isanti Wins Double Header Battle over Chisago Lakes
It was the 2nd and final meeting of the season between these two teams on Tuesday night. In the 1st game of the double header it was the girls who would play. It was a slow start to the game for both teams, neither team could establish any rhythm on offense but the defenses were stepping up. Whether it was blocked shots, steals, playing physical or forcing awkward shots we had it all from a defensive standpoint. Both teams were able to score periodically but simply couldn't beat the defense.
