Xavier: Hi, my name is Xavier Brooks. I’m currently manning this interview on behalf of KCR College Radio. And I am here with Howells — or, I think you’re the frontman for Howells, right? Howells: You think right. That is me. Xavier: Do you want to say a little bit about yourself or introduce your… Howells: Sure. Yeah, my name is Benjamin. I sing and play guitar for the rock band Howells, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

On its self-titled third LP, the band demonstrates just how much the music represents what Linda From Work is all about. Led by lead vocalist and guitarist Hilary Tusick, the band features drummer Sam Nowak, guitarist Elliott Gregory, and bassist Shayla Riday. Together, they form a group of friends sharing their unique, high-energy music through their eclectic rock ‘n’ roll sound.

American Football is an alternative rock band from Urbana, Illinois. Formed in 1997, the trio was composed of Mike Kinsella, Steve Holmes, and Steve Lamos. Their self-titled debut album was released while the group was still in college. However, the band remained together for merely three years after parting ways in 2000 due to a mutual agreement to focus on personal lives rather than music.

Walking away from Lightning in a Bottle festival with tired feet, dust-coated lungs, but most of all, a full heart. Attending LIB festival was unlike anything we’ve experienced before, with a major highlight being the community of people that make up this special event. I’ve never experienced a more respectful crowd who’s there for the right reasons… the music! And the dancing was nonstop.

Lightning in a Bottle festival returns for its 23rd consecutive year, bringing music and art to Buena Vista Lake on May 21 through the 26th. The 2026 lineup is stacked from top to bottom with Sara Landry, Mau P, Zeds Dead, and Empire of the Sun headlining this magical weekend. Beyond the big names, this year’s undercard is packed with innovative, genre-bending artists worth getting there early for. Before you lock in your schedule, here are some artists you should absolutely not miss.

After holding a 2-0 lead 82 minutes in, the visitors rallied for two late goals, including a 104th minute goal by LAFC winger Ryan Hollingshead.

She’s a San Diego-based singer-songwriter who just returned home after spending several years in The Netherlands, and she has a hometown show coming up at The Casbah on April 15th.

SDFC’s woeful run in the MLS was extended, as the ‘Loons’ 2-1 win kept the home team from notching their first league victory since Mar. 7. Jesus Garcia, Contributor San Diego FC was beaten 2-1 by Minnesota United on Apr. 11 at Snapdragon Stadium. An early goal from defender Luca Bambino was not enough to salvage any points. The loss marks the fifth straight winless result in all competitions, extending that record for the newly-established club.
