Jamshid Ghomi, 63, of Newport Coast, Calif., was ordered held without release Thursday by U.S. Magistrate Judge Douglas McCormick in federal court, the New York Post reported. Ghomi is charged with conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and faces up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
