The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that Lil Wayne, Linkin Park, Kate Hudson, Pedro Pascal and Karol G are among the 32 entertainers selected for the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027. The new class spans six categories — motion pictures, television, recording, live theatre/live performance, radio and sports entertainment — with honorees chosen from hundreds of nominations and approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Longtime ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard dies at age 77
Frank Beard, the longtime drummer of ZZ Top and a key figure in the Texas rock band’s enduring sound, died Aug. 17 at age 77. Beard died at his ranch in Richmond, Texas, while receiving hospice care and surrounded by family, according to his publicist. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Beard, born June 11, 1949, in Frankston, Texas, had spent more than half a century behind the drum kit for ZZ Top. He joined ZZ Top in 1969 and became part of the trio’s defining lineup with guitarist Billy F.

Hatebreed have announced their ninth studio album, Fatal Paradox, set for release Nov. 6 through BLKIIBLK, marking the band’s first full-length since 2020’s Weight of the False Self and its debut on the label. Produced by longtime collaborator Chris “Zeuss” Harris, the 11-track record arrives after a six-year gap and continues the group’s longstanding partnership with the producer behind many of its best-known releases.

Mastodon drops animated video for ‘In the Ruins’
Mastodon has released an animated video for “In the Ruins,” the latest preview of its upcoming album, “Marrow Deep,” dropping Aug. 28 through Loma Vista Recordings. The project marks Mastodon’s first full-length album since former guitarist and vocalist Brent Hinds’ death, and its first studio album to feature guitarist Nick Johnston, with keyboardist João Nogueira also contributing. The 12-track record was produced by the band with Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou and mixed by Andrew Scheps.

ShipRocked 2027 is gearing up for another high-energy cruise after closing out its biggest year yet for its 16th edition in 2026. The 17th edition—titled “The Eternal Shogun of Rebellion, the indomitable Skully-sama”—will take place January 24–30, 2027. Departing from Miami once again aboard the Carnival Horizon, the voyage will introduce a Samurai-inspired theme and make stops at Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras (a first for ShipRocked), and Cozumel, Mexico.
