(Richmond, IN)--An alleged drug dealer was behind bars after his arrest in downtown Richmond early Friday morning. Police came into contact with 42-year-old Bray Ellison at 3 o’clock Friday morning at 8th and East Main. Ellison is now charged with dealing cocaine or narcotic drug. Details of what led to his arrest have not been released. Ellison has a criminal history that includes multiple arrests for drugs and theft.

(Whitewater Valley)--An exact opening date for a FEMA intake center for flood victims in Wayne County has not been set, but an intake center will be open Friday and Saturday in Franklin County. The intake center will be open at the Metamora Church of God Friday and Saturday, and at the Laurel Library on Monday and Tuesday. Representatives of FEMA will help flood-impacted residents by helping apply for financial assistance.

(Oxford, OH)--One area community has decided to completely ban flock cameras. Oxford has become the first community in all of Ohio to ban the license plate-reading devices. 14 of those cameras are now being removed throughout Oxford. In Wayne County, the organization Eyes Off Indiana says there are 17 documented flock cameras. Nearly all of them are located on I-70, U.S. 40, and Chester Boulevard. That number and those locations have not been independently confirmed by local law enforcement.

(Richmond, IN)--Richmond’s Advisory Plan Commission advanced a plan Wednesday to construct five more new homes on Richmond’s east side. Preliminary approval for the development of six lots at the east end of South C off of Garwood Road was granted back in the 1980’s, but those lots were never developed. Now, plans have changed slightly to construct homes on five lots.

(Wayne County, IN)--Wayne County’s unemployment rate has risen for the third straight month. According to new figures from the state, Wayne County’s rate has risen slightly and stands this morning at 3.8%. That’s the highest it’s been since February. The increase comes largely because 433 people have dropped out of Wayne County’s workforce in the last month. Fayette County has Indiana’s third-highest rate at 4.3%, while Union County has the state’s third-lowest at 2.9%.

(Connersville, IN)--In Connersville, some people who lost their homes to flooding are still sleeping in their cars. Wednesday night, Fayette County Emergency Management issued a message specifically targeting those people and said that temporary housing is now available at 3542 Western Avenue. That shelter has around-the-clock staffing for intake. Arrangements are also being made to take children to and from school to that location.

The Cambridge City Town Council held a special meeting Monday night focused entirely on flood recovery. Members approved an interlocal agreement to receive opioid?settlement funds for police equipment and accepted a donated 2011 F?250 to replace flood?damaged vehicles.

Drivers along the I?70 corridor will see major changes starting today as construction moves into a new phase. The westbound ramp at Williamsburg Pike is set to reopen after crews demolished the old flyover and advanced work on the new roundabouts. But ramps to and from eastbound I?70 at U.S. 35 will close the same day and remain shut through late October while crews build tie?ins for the final roundabout configuration.

A major veterans shelter in Winchester is at risk of closing after the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs declined to renew two key funding programs that keep it running. The Journey Home says its primary contract ends September 17th and while the organization has applied for a new federal grant, a decision won’t come until late September. The shelter has served more than 500 homeless veterans since 2014, with 83% moving into permanent housing.
