After 32 years of hosting The Morning Show on Classical KING, Brad has seen this station through more growing pains, gains, and losses than any other announcer and has truly earned his retirement and the beginning of this next chapter in his life. Before starting his 32-year tenure with Classical KING in Seattle, Brad grew up as a real life Goonie in Astoria, OR.

If you’re a regular listener you’ve surely noticed the programming changes in recent years as we’ve highlighted brilliant women and composers and performers of color. This work gave us a new mission: change the way people perceive classical music. Let’s be honest we know some people think of classical music as stodgy old white guy music.
Meet Our Seattle Arts Fellow Myah Rose Paden
Myah Rose Paden is a classical vocalist and arts advocate from Columbus, Georgia. While she was in graduate school at the University of Michigan, Myah was the co-coordinator for the development of the online course Black Performance as Social Protest. Myah is also an accomplished performer who has sung several chamber and mainstage operatic roles with the U-M Opera and Chamber Choir. Myah also comes to KING with experience as a social media manager and podcast creator.
Come on a virtual KING FM station tour!
Join Sean MacLean, host of Northwest Focus LIVE, and host/videographer Nikhil Sarma, as they take KING FM listeners through a virtual studio tour. This video was shot in May 2020 – since this filming we have completed the Capital Campaign that made it possible for KING to move our offices and studio, and improve the equipment, technology, and quality of the station. Hosts and staff have been successfully working out of this new building since February 2020.

The Young Artist Awards Are Back! We are so thrilled to once again be partnering with Seattle Chamber Music Society to present the 2022 Young Artist Awards (YAA)! Now in its tenth season, this competition strives to give talented young musicians a bigger stage to showcase their talents and hard work for the chance to win a cash prize and an invitation to perform on Northwest Focus LIVE, as well as at SCMS’ new performance hall, the Center for Chamber Music.
Meet Program Coordinator David Wall
David Wall first found his way to KING FM when he started as a volunteer in 2014 after playing in the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra with then-Assistant Program Director Maggie Stapleton. Shortly after his introduction to the station, David took the role of Event Manager and eventually found his way to his current role as Program Coordinator.
Meet the Hosts: Lisa Bergman
If you’re a regular reader of our KING FM e-newsletter, you’re well aware of how excited we’ve all been to welcome back host Lisa Bergman to the station. As an experienced concert pianist, graduating from the Juilliard School, the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and the University of Washington, cum laude, Lisa served as an Artist in Residence and faculty member at the University of Washington School of Music for 10 years. But it’s not all work and no play.
