North Iowa Faces Severe Storm Risk Overnight, Heat Index Could Top 100 Monday
NORTH IOWA — Forecasters are tracking a two-part weather threat for North Iowa that begins with overnight thunderstorms and ends with a chance of severe storms and dangerous heat Monday, according to the National Weather Service office in Des Moines. The Weather Service placed the region under a marginal risk, or level 1 of 5, for severe storms from midnight to 6 a.m. Monday, with damaging wind cited as the main hazard.
Worth County Board to Meet Monday
The Worth County Board of Supervisors will meet on Monday beginning at 8:30am. You can view the meeting at that time on either kiow.com or b1031.com. The board will go over road maintenance with Worth County Engineer Richard Brumm. He will ask the board to review and possibly approve the Secondary Roads Fiscal Year 27 DOT Budget and Five-year Construction Program.
Puckerbrush Days Continue on Saturday
The Puckerbrush Days celebration continues today as several events are planned including a concert and fireworks. Mason City Man, 46, Arrested in Fatal Fareway Parking Lot Crash
MASON CITY, Iowa — A Mason City man has been arrested in connection with a fatal vehicle incident that occurred in January in the parking lot of a Fareway store, according to the Mason City Police Department. Timothy Best, 46, of Mason City, was taken into custody at about 8 a.m. Thursday and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail, police said. The incident took place Jan. 31 in the parking lot of the Fareway store at 400 N. Delaware Ave., according to police.

Puckerbrush Begins Today in Forest City
