FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 29, 2020 Long Beach, Calif — Long Beach Public Media (LBPM) will christen the city’s new public radio station, 99.1 KLBP, with a celebration taking place leap year weekend. A ribbon cutting ceremony on February 28th at noon will kick off the festivities. Several city officials and community leaders are expected to attend. Following the ceremony, the studio will remain open until 8:00p.m. for public tours. The tours will resume on Saturday, Feb.
ARTiculate: A New Podcast from KLBP & Port City Creative Guild
KLBP has partnered with the Port City Creative Guild for EMERGENCE, a new exhibition on view online through September. EMERGENCE itself is a play on ‘emergency’ and the sense of urgency we are all feeling to renew hope, fight for justice and heal. For the project, KLBP produced ARTiculate, a new podcast highlighting the ten artists whose works are featured in the exhibition. We have also curated a playlist of local musicians as a companion to the gallery.
