Belmond Council to consider sewer project funding Monday
The Belmond City Council will meet Monday evening with several action items on its agenda. Marshalltown Man Faces Seven Charges After Alleged Shooting During Domestic Dispute
A Marshalltown man is facing seven criminal charges, including four felony counts, after authorities say he fired a handgun during an argument Wednesday at a home on East Church Street. According to a criminal complaint, 44-year-old Josh Warnell became involved in a verbal dispute with another person. Investigators say Warnell left the residence, then returned armed with a pistol. He allegedly displayed the firearm before firing a single shot into the floor of the home.
Heat safety reminder as hot weather continues across north Iowa
With above-normal temperatures expected to continue through Monday, local health officials are reminding residents to recognize the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke before they become life-threatening. Nancy Retz, EMS Manager at Franklin General Hospital, tells RadioOnTheGo News everyone should be aware of the risks of heat-related illnesses during periods of hot weather.

Wright County motorists to see Highway 3 detour
Beginning on Monday motorists in Wright County will be affected by a construction project that could take months to complete. Iowa Department of Transportation officials say the project to replace the bridge over Eagle Creek on Iowa Highway 3 between Clarion and Goldfield will begin July 20, with an expected completion date of Nov. 15, weather permitting.
