(Kelso, WA) – The Kelso Burger King and Taco Bell were closed Friday morning after a water main broke on Allen Drive off Allen Street. The restaurants had to cease operations because of no water. Kelso crews have been working to repair the line and restore the water service.

(Scappoose, OR) — The Scappoose Police Department is searching for potential victims after arresting a man accused of committing fraud at InRoads Credit Union. The Columbia County Spotlight reports that at about noon yesterday police responded to reports of a fraud in progress at the bank, located at 52691 Columbia River Highway in Scappoose.

(Castle Rock, WA) — Fire crews throughout the Northwest are on edge with the extreme fire danger. Cowlitz 2 worked quickly when a brush fire broke out in the median of I-5 near exit 48 in Castle Rock at about 3:45 Thursday afternoon. Flames were about three feet high, and the size grew to about 300 feet in length before crews were able to extinguish the fire in just under 15 minutes.

(Woodland, WA) – Lightning hit a Cowlitz PUD substation Friday morning just before 5:30 am. A small fire started at the substation and near a power pole just off I-5 at the milepost 22 Dike Access Road. PUD spokesperson Alice Dietz said that the lightning strike knocked out of the North Woodland substation and in turn knocked out the West Woodland Station that it feeds.
