One of the subjects I cover or write about most often is crime. In Montana, law enforcement has been on an absolute tear catching bad guys and putting them away. But where do the worst of the worst go when they're charged and sent away? One of Great Falls’ most popular tourist attractions is facing an uncertain future. Since opening in 1998, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center has welcomed visitors from around the world, telling the story of the Corps of Discovery and their journey through Montana. Now, according to a report from Montana Free Press, the center is preparing to lose all three of its full-time employees, raising questions about what comes next.

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Montana wildfire lines are holding on this summer's major blazes, as we head into Labor Day Weekend. In the West Pioneers, the Sand Creek Fire is now just over 35-thousand acres, but containment is also up, reaching 21%. Operations Section Chief Greg Shenk says lines along what was the fire's dangerous southern edge are doing their job. "We do not anticipate any southerly or westerly progression of the fire," Shenk said in the Thursday briefing.

It's hard to believe that September 11th, 2001 was 25 years ago. Of course, like most of us, I remember where I was. I was on the radio doing a morning show when we figured out what had happened. Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On September 3, 2026, Attorney General Austin Knudsen announced that the Montana Supreme Court affirmed the conviction of Jason Allen Miller for the attempted homicide of Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Lewis Johnson. Knudsen said Miller appealed his June 2025 conviction for running over and seriously injuring Trooper Johnson in February 2023.

Montana athlete Zanen Pitts is competing in one of the wildest competitions in the world right now. As a matter of fact, he's halfway around the world in Kyrgyzstan, representing Team USA in a sport you probably don't know much about. It's called kok boru, also known as "goat polo". Trust me, this is one you have to see to believe. As we get ready to say so long to Summer and hello to Fall, it's an important reminder that we should all be "Bear Aware" here in Montana. So much so that the City of Bozeman released a statement.

Back to school is happening across Montana, and those first few weeks can be a little hectic. Everybody is getting back into a routine. Kids are getting used to their schedules, parents are trying to get everyone where they need to be, and teachers are getting their classrooms organized and trying to get an entire school year off to a good start. I've had a lot of teachers in my life.
