Ahmedabad gets new Terminal-2 with airport-style facilities for Saurashtra-Kutch buses
Ahmedabad’s Geetamandir Bus Port has added a second terminal to handle growing passenger traffic on routes to Saurashtra-Kutch and North Gujarat. Deputy CM inaugurated Terminal-2, a 4,309 sq m facility equipped with upgraded passenger amenities. The new terminal began operations on August 13, with around 1,091 buses departing daily for destinations across Saurashtra, Kutch and North Gujarat.
Ahmedabad AMC to provide free Hearse Services, waives existing transport charges
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to make its hearse services completely free, removing the ₹50 charge previously levied for transporting bodies from hospitals to homes or from homes to crematoriums. The decision was taken at the AMC Standing Committee meeting on Thursday. The service will be available 24×7 across Ahmedabad and AMC limits. AMC officials also reviewed the status of police verification for guards employed by the civic body.
