Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin has announced a new album, The Gem, which is set to release on September 25 via her new label, 4AD. She's coming to Salt Lake City's Metro Music Hall on October 30. The Gem is titled after a pub and live music venue in Melbourne, where Jacklin moved from Sydney in 2017. She and her band recorded the album in a hotel room-turned-studio space located right above the bar.

Margaret Glaspy has announced her new album, I Am Both, and shared the lead single “Michigan.” The album releases on August 7 and she's headed to Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City on November 9. I Am Both was produced by Joe Henry (Aimee Mann, Joan Baez) and follows 2023's Echo the Diamond. The 11-track record came together as Glaspy broke away from social media, an intentional decision to center her thoughts again.

Nick Hakim announced his fourth studio album, I Can See, set for release on July 24 and he's headed to Salt Lake City for a show at Urban Lounge. Tickets are on sale now from here. I Can See and the title track contribute a new chapter to the singer/songwriter’s catalog of work. “I can’t imagine beginning this album without this track,” Hakim said of the single in the announcement. “It’s the entry point of this collection of songs. This took four years to finish.

Tuesday, June 16: Talanoa's Stephanie Mahina returns with filmmakers and organizers behind the annualMasima Film Festival @ SLFS. Plus, Music Noir, Animal Rights Awareness Week, World Refugee Day, and Lil Poppet's production of Sam Shepard's True West. Homegrown Music Noir, featuring JADE All week long, RadioACTive is collaborating with Alexander Galore of Black on Mars for something we're calling Black Noir, a celebration of local Black musicians and creatives. Tonight's featured artist is JADE.
