Olmsted County Declares Local Emergency After Sept. 2 Storm
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Board has voted to declare a state of local emergency in the aftermath of the severe storm that smashed through southeastern Minnesota on September 2. According to a news release, the declaration clears the way for local jurisdictions in Olmsted County to apply for emergency assistance from the state of Minnesota. That assistance would help defray the expenses incurred in restoring power and clearing away debris from the storm.
Rochester Man Gets 4 Months for BB Gun Shooting
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to four months in jail for shooting a man with a BB gun last year. Olmsted County court records show that 22-year-old Ashton Charles Hyde has also been placed on probation for three years and was given a stayed 33-month prison sentence that could be imposed if he does not complete his probation. His sentencing order also indicates Hyde has been granted work-release privileges.
