Under Dolliver, Pender won the Class C-2 State Championship in 2023, then won back-to-back titles in Class D-1 in 2024 and 2025, before winning again in Class-C2 in 2026. The Explorers trailed 6-5 entering the top of the 9th inning before scoring a run to send the game into extras. Sioux City improves to 23-27 on the year with the win and hosts the Saltdogs again on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at Lewis & Clark Park.

Juniors Area Legion Baseball Tournaments got underway on Friday. In B5 in West Point, Platte River defeated Stanton 13-8. Platte River advances to play West Point at 7:30 Saturday night in a game that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull. Wayne shutout Arlington 8-0 in 5 innings and O’Neill downed Pierce 12-3 so Wayne and O’Neill will play before West Point and Platte River at 5:00. Arlington and Pierce will play in an elimination game at 2:30.
Rave’s 9th inning Grand Slam lifts Storm Chasers over Bats
LOUISVILLE, KEN. – John Rave hit a go-ahead, 9th-inning grand slam to lead the Omaha Storm Chasers (6-10/39-51) to a 6-4 victory over the Louisville Bats (7-8/46-42) on Friday night. Rave went 3-for-5 in the game, while Bailey Falter allowed just 2 runs over 5.0 innings in his start as the Storm Chasers won their first game of the series.
