PBS KVIE has announced that its regional newsroom, Abridged by PBS KVIE, earned 16 awards in the California News Publishers Association’s 2025 California Journalism Awards, including the most first-place recognitions of any professional news organization in the Sacramento region. Abridged received six first-place awards, one second-place award and two third-place recognitions across a range of categories.

This summer, the PBS KVIE app is getting a new name and a new look: KVIE+. Why plus? KVIE’s streaming service provides an enhanced user experience for streaming your favorite PBS programs and KVIE livestreams — it’s an another great way for you to connect with your PBS station, KVIE. June is here! As the weather grows warmer, beat the heat by treating yourself to some quality TV time. Drama lovers will want to clear the schedules, as the beloved series Grantchester on Masterpiece is coming to a close; all episodes of this final season will be available to stream the night of 6/14. Eleven seasons, three vicars, one Geordie — as Grantchester on Masterpiece comes to a close after 11 years, we have some exciting news for our Grantchester fans! In addition to the broadcast premiere of the final eleventh season on June 14, both seasons 1 and 10 of the fan-favorite series will be available to stream for free from May 30 – August 16, 2026 before they move back into the Passport library!
