The first strum of their infamous guitar riff, and all cameras were up on Die Spitz on stage. On November 2 of last year, the all-female rock group headlined yet another show in their hometown of Austin, Texas. Dripping in fake blood and covered in face paint, the four girls met a crowd who knew every single word to each of their songs and a mosh pit that was swinging in full force.

Their set started with a warm hello from lead vocalist Chealsea Rifkin followed by their powerful 2023 single “The Riff” which is highlighted by the heavy guitars of Aaron Liebman and Andrew Perrea. The band followed up with “Moved Along”, another single.

Their loss! The group was able to deliver a high-energy, tightly rehearsed, and interesting set despite the early hour. The post-punk group delivered the first surprise of their show when one member pulled out an Alto Saxophone and kicked off the set with a soulful tune.
