Caldwell High School has announced this year’s homecoming court. Running for Homecoming Queen are Lucy Ferguson, Angie Lobo, Ireland Morgan and Jasmine Rodriguez. The Homecoming King candidates are Michael Butler, Grant Leubner, Matthew Revilla and Kyson Strange. Also part of the homecoming court are Junior Duke and Duchess, Jack Gardner and Alayna Smith; Sophomore Duke and Duchess, Rylan Cross and Greenlee Conway; and Freshman Duke and Duchess, Rylan Zboril and Rylie Woodburn.
BLINN RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY GRADS ACHIEVE 100% FIRST-ATTEMPT PASS RATE ON CREDENTIALING EXAM
All 16 graduates of this year’s Blinn College District Radiologic Technology Program passed the national credentialing examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) on their first attempt, demonstrating the program’s strong preparation for careers in radiologic technology. The achievement reflects the rigorous academic and clinical training students receive throughout Blinn’s nationally accredited, two-year Radiologic Technology Program.
COLORADO CO. FAIR EVENTS KICK OFF THURSDAY
Activities for the 48th Annual Colorado County Fair in Columbus begin tomorrow (Thursday). The Colorado County Fairgrounds will play host to livestock and rodeo events, carnival fun, and live music acts through Saturday. Tomorrow will kick off at 8 a.m. with the hog, lamb, broiler, goat and ag mechanics shows. It will also be Senior Citizens Day and Kids Day at the fair. Opening ceremonies will be held at 5 p.m. and will include the crowning of the fair membership queen.
RESISTING ARREST, THEFT WARRANT, PAROLE VIOLATION MAKE UP THREE BOOKINGS TUESDAY FOR BRENHAM PD
Brenham police reported three arrests on Tuesday on charges including resisting arrest, a theft warrant and a parole violation. Ashley Tynette Burns (Washington Co. Jail) Around 8:15 a.m., K9 Sergeant Jimmy Ha, Detective Andrea Guerra and Officer Carley Lee responded to a hit and run located near the 1900 block of West Main Street.
SHERIFF’S OFFICE MAKES ARREST FOR INVALID LICENSE
Lakisa Marie Penrice (Washington Co. Jail) A Hempstead woman was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday for an invalid license charge. At 10:15 p.m., Deputy Jacob Faske initiated a traffic stop in the 1100 block of FM 1155 North, for no front license plate lights. The sheriff’s office reported that the driver was found to be operating the vehicle with an invalid license and did not have insurance for the vehicle.
TYLER DEFEATS BLINN VOLLEYBALL IN CONFERENCE OPENER
Story by Joe Alberico, Blinn College Sports Information McKynzee Beddes (Joe Alberico) The No. 4 Blinn College volleyball team dropped its Region 14 opener to No. 14 Tyler Junior College 25-23, 19-25, 25-16, 25-19 on Tuesday at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas. The Buccaneers moved to 13-2 overall and 0-1 in Region 14. Sophomore hitter McKynzee Beddes and sophomore middle blocker Alana Asante led the Bucs with nine kills apiece, while freshman hitter Nevaeh English added eight.
WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS DESIGNATE REDUCED NUMBER OF ELECTION DAY POLLING PLACES
Washington County Elections Administrator Jennifer Gajeske shares information with county commissioners on Tuesday about the polling locations for the November 2026 general election. Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday approved the list of polling locations for the upcoming November election. The eight polling places on Election Day, November 3rd, are split by two for each of the four commissioners precincts. Four are inside Brenham city limits.

LEON SNAPS BURTON VOLLEYBALL’S 11 MATCH WINNING STREAK
The Leon Lady Cougars snapped the 11-match winning streak for the Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team last (Tuesday) night. Leon won the sets 25-19, 25-22, and 21. Madalyn Henry led Burton with 12 kills and 17 digs. Kinsey Lunbeck added nine kills and four blocks. Laci Broesche finished with 24 assists, 3 blocks, and nine digs. Adison Harmel led the defense with 23 digs, while Natalie Hodde came up with eight digs as well.
