Week 1 high school football stats & highlights for the USC Trojans’ recruiting class The 2027 USC recruiting class is small but loaded. Fourteen commits. Multiple blue-chippers. Heavy California flavor. And with high school season just kicking off, the first real on-field looks are in. Here’s a clean, quick rundown of how the future Trojans performed in Week 0/1 games (Aug. 20–22), plus season context where available. Quentin Hale, WR – Centennial The clear early star.

USC Trojans Practice No. 16 Notes Last on-field viewing day before game week Hot day. Moving week on campus (students back). Parking sparse. Final full viewing access of USC Trojans fall camp — next week shifts to press-conference only. Mark Bowman (true freshman TE) and Breck Kolojay (OL) both returned to pads after missing a couple of practices. Coach Riley had already indicated these were normal camp bumps and bruises (outside of the known longer-term situation with Killian O’Connor).

USC Trojans Practice No. 15 Notes Intensity rising • 11 days until kickoff Practice 15 of fall camp is in the books. USC Trojans season opener is Saturday, August 29 vs. San Jose State at the Coliseum. This week is basically mock-game week. Next week becomes true game-week prep. Wide Receiver Tanook Hines returned to the field today in full pads. We only watched him do individual work (media couldn’t see team periods), but he looked like a full participant.

We are just over the halfway point of the USC Trojans‘ fall camp. The season kicks off in two weeks, and the depth chart is beginning to come into focus. With players like edges Bud Dupree and Khalil Mack in their 30s (and Mack possibly entering his last year), there’s space for new, young talent like Mesidor to emerge.

Trojan family — Practice 12 is in the books. We were to observe the entire USC Trojans practice, but cannot report on specifics. Talked to Lincoln Riley + defensive players afterward (first availability since the Wednesday scrimmage). Intensity was high. Overall vibe is strong. They finally turned on the new state-of-the-art surround-sound system on the practice fields. Old way: a couple of big portable speakers wheeled out.

Ethan Evans entered the NFL with the kind of leg strength that made booming punts look routine. Now entering his fourth season with the Los Angeles Rams, Evans has learned that distance alone does not define a successful punt. “It used to be crushing a ball, just absolutely nuking a punt,” Evans told LAFB Network. “But in the NFL, field position is everything.” That shift in perspective has shaped Evans’ work during training camp.
