General manager Joe Hortiz might have revealed his plans to re-sign veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen to the Los Angeles Chargers. Following the money is, at times, the best indicator of what a team thinks of specific players and their chances of sticking on a final roster. For undrafted free agents, especially, the path is extremely difficult to climb.

Los Angeles Chargers Safety Elijah Molden had a hot 2024, earning a big three-year contract coming into 2025 of $18.75 million with $13.5 million guaranteed. In 2024, he played the most snaps of his career (761), with other career highs in Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades such as defense (74.6%), coverage (74.1%), and run defense (71.5%), as well as in interceptions (three) and passes defended (seven). His defense grade ranked 16th amongst 97 safeties, and he was 13th in coverage.

The Los Angeles Chargers are gearing up for the upcoming NFL season, with the likes of tight end David Njoku, offensive guard Cole Strange, and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel all joining the team this offseason. The largest beneficiary from all these upgrades, though, is second-year running back Omarion Hampton.
