Too many kids miss out on this chance to build social-emotional skills, form peer connections, and reduce social isolation outside the school year. They miss a chance to make lifelong memories and have fun outdoors. At LCSNW, we are helping open the world of summer camp, one family at a time. This summer, our Idaho team was able to send five children to summer camp in the Sawtooth Mountains.

Each Thursday in Seattle, volunteer Sam Lee goes above and beyond to support students with their academic goals while fostering confidence, responsibility, and a love of learning. LCSNW Tri-Cities celebrates new chapter with open house and ribbon cutting
The Tri-Cities office of LCSNW saw an amazing turnout at its August 5, 2026 Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Canal Drive in Kennewick. More than highlighting a new facility, the day was a celebration of a caring community that continues to invest in the wellbeing of local youth and families. The event was the culmination of extensive renovations that began in the fall of 2025.
More than $35,000 in scholarships awarded to LCSNW clients ‘to build a better future’
Younger immigrants often come to America with dreams to safely pursue their education – dreams that once seemed out of reach. Along the way, they give back to their families, schools, and adopted communities. For the past several years, LCSNW has financially assisted many hardworking students through our Cascade People’s Center (CPC) scholarship program. The recipients are clients of our programs in the Puget Sound and Spokane areas.
Dementia Services activities grow across South Puget Sound
LCSNW’s Dementia Services Social Engagement Activities are helping more people stay active, connected, and engaged through a variety of social and creative opportunities. This summer, participants can enjoy Memory Walks and the return of Memory Cafés. LCSNW is also expanding our Opening Minds through Art (OMA) and Music and Memories programs to the Key Peninsula area of Pierce County.
Anonymous donor spurs $1 million match challenge for youth mental health
We are thrilled to announce a transformational investment in the future of youth mental health services in the Tri-Cities. An anonymous donor has made a $500,000 gift and committed to a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge of up to $1 million to support the LCSNW Tri-Cities Office Expansion Campaign.

Youth Outpatient Mental Health - Now with expanded medication management - LCSNW
Our commitment to increasing access to coordinated youth mental health care continues to grow at LCSNW Tri-Cities. With the addition of two new Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) – Dr. Alejandra Elizondo and Donna Braswell – our team partners closely with schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies to ensure youth and families receive comprehensive support aligned with their individual circumstances.
This winter, LCSNW is again hosting warm space on cold nights in Bellingham
For the second consecutive winter, LCSNW is providing space and operational support for the Bellingham Severe Weather Shelter. The former Central Lutheran church property, acquired by LCSNW two years ago, has become a potentially life-saving beacon of hope for people experiencing homelessness on nights when the temperature dips to 32 degrees or colder.
LCSNW's Spokane Director adds new way to serve by joining City Council
Shelly’s four-year term started on Jan. 1. Looking ahead, she is eager to focus on priorities that directly impact residents’ daily lives. Her goals include strengthening public safety departments, ensuring the city has adequate and sustainable water resources, and expanding access to social services and connectivity throughout the community. “I’m excited to work with city leaders to leverage resources and amplify benefits in Cheney and across our region,” she said.
