Lihua Xu, 79, of Palmyra, passed away at Spring Creek Rehab and Nursing Facility on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She was the wife of Fuzhen Wang, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage. Lihua was born in China on Sept. 2, 1946, to the late Guangwu Xu and Donglian Zheng. She was a medical doctor who contributed to integrative pain medicine through acupuncture. Her colleagues and patients loved her for her dedication to patient care. She enjoyed watching television, gardening, and flowers.
Brenda L. Smith (1944-2026)
Brenda L. Smith, 81, of Annville, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Thornwald Home in Carlisle, PA. Born on Oct. 19, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Betty (Ayers) Rutter. Brenda was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. She was a chocolate lover and enjoyed word search puzzles. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Kelly J. Schroeder, wife of William, of Hollywood, MD; and grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, and Emma. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Rutter.
Robert “Big Bob” Litton (1945-2026)
Robert “Big Bob” Litton passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the age of 80. Bob was born on Sept. 23, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, to George and Katherine. He was the youngest of his brothers, George and Ronald. Bob spent much of his life in Townbank, NJ, a few blocks from the bay. As a very young boy, he became the first mate on his uncle’s party boat. At the family’s summer bungalow, Bob and his cousins created a lifetime of memories filled with playful shenanigans and endless adventures.
Marlin R. Schollenberger (1940-2026)
Marlin R. Schollenberger, 85, of Myerstown, PA, died on Friday, July 17, 2026, at StoneRidge Poplar Run, Myerstown. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Hoch) Schollenberger, to whom he would have been married for 66 years on Sept. 10, 2026. Born in Kempton, PA, on Nov. 30, 1940, he was a son of the late Leroy C. and Mabel E. (Kunkel) Schollenberger. Marlin was a 1958 graduate of Myerstown High School. He received an associate’s degree in Drafting and Design Technology from Penn State University.
Alyn Belinda Chavez Adorno (2006-2026)
Alyn Belinda Chavez Adorno, 19 years, 11 months, and 13 days old, of Lebanon, PA, went home with the Lord on July 13, 2026. Born on July 23, 2006, in Lebanon, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Dayra Carolina Adorno Martinez and Kurt Allyn Yoder. Alyn was an angel sent from God. She enjoyed music, reading, dancing, hair bows, worshiping, movies (especially Disney), and God’s wonderful creation (nature). She enjoyed interacting with little children and babies, especially with special needs.
Palmyra Borough bans amusement arcades in central business district
This article was funded by LebTown donors as part of our Civic Impact Reporting Project. Palmyra Borough Council unanimously approved an ordinance amendment during its July 14 meeting that will ban amusement arcades in the central business district. The central business district runs along U.S. Route 422/Main Street from Mark Street to Lincoln Street and along Railroad Street from Cypress Street to Broad Streets.
City receives $1 million for parking garage
Lebanon city was awarded $1 million Friday towards construction of a downtown Lebanon parking garage in the 2025 round of Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants.
Joseph Patrick Kyle (2026)
Joseph Patrick “Joe” Kyle, 91, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026. Born in Bergoo, WV, he was the son of the late Charles and Macie (Cook) Kyle. He was married for 66 cherished years to Wanda M. (Neel) Kyle. Joe was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He obtained an associate’s degree from Franklin & Marshall and worked most of his career in retail. He retired in 1998 from Watt & Shand after 25 years.

Fort Indiantown Gap expands drone, counter-drone training opportunities
