Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, adapted for stage by Terence Rattigan and John Gielgud  tours to Leeds Playhouse from 22 – 26 September as part of a UK tour.

Leeds city centre’s waterfront will come alive at the end of this month when Brewery Wharf hosts its first ever Summer Social Community Celebration and family fun weekend. Taking place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August from 12pm to 9pm, the two-day event will bring together local businesses, community organisations, residents and visitors for a weekend of family entertainment, live music and activities on the waterfront.

With the theme A City Speaks…, this year’s Light Night will form part of Leeds 400, marking 400 years since Leeds was granted its first Royal Charter by King Charles I. Through contemporary art, the festival will explore the stories, people and places that have shaped Leeds over the past four centuries while looking towards the city’s future.

From the outside it just looks like one of the many chic gastro pubs overlooking the stray in Harrogate. But  enter through its heavy wooden doors it’s a very different story. With its amazing vintage décor, top notch cuisine and a ‘secret garden’  Three’s a Crowd really does outshine some of the towns other restaurants and gastro pubs. Walk through the front door you will be amazed by the spacious feel and the expertly choreographed seating and table arrangement.

Since it first opened Brasserie Blanc has retained its reputation of being  one of the shining jewels in the restaurant crown of Leeds. Situated on  the fashionable  waterfront, as they now refer to the  banks of the once grimy River Aire originally home to dark ‘satanic’mills and bonded warehouses, Brasserie Blanc has risen from the ashes of the area’s regeneration and become a dining force to be reckoned with. It was a warm and balmy evening when we arrived.

Employing high-resolution digital projections all housed within a portable dome structure, the attraction will screen a programme of films for visitors of all ages. From September 4-26, 2026, Planetarium Go UK will host the screenings every day between 11am and 6pm Sunday to Friday and 10am to 8pm on Saturdays.

Recently nominated as Best Independent Company at the upcoming National Dance Awards 2026, London City Ballet will be back at York Theatre Royal this Autumn with a new programme of work (18-19 Sep) – including a co-production with York Theatre Royal of Glen Tetley’s Firebird.

The National Science and Media Museum’s Pictureville Cinema will host a rare screening of Dr Akbar Ahmed’s acclaimed play Gandhi and Jinnah Return Home on Saturday 15 August. The screening will be introduced by acclaimed author Dr Amineh Hoti and followed by a Q&A session hosted by Dr Mohammed Ali OBE, Founder and Chief Executive of QED Foundation. The play’s writer, Dr. Akbar Ahmed, and director Manjula Kumar will both join online.

The Brown Suite, a new high-energy funk-fuelled show by dancing duo BlacBrik, is coming to the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November as part its upcoming tour to 12 venues across UK cities. Envisioned, directed and choreographed by BlacBrik’s founders Nahum McLean and Darius Drooh, The Brown Suite is produced by Fundamentally Dance, with Jamiel Devernay-Laurence as the creative producer.

Drawing on the house’s renowned collections as well as its beautiful gardens and landscape, their dazzling work will be the centrepieces of an exhibition that gives a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the remarkable world of working with silver.
