Almost 850,000 properties have left the private rented sector across the UK in the last decade – that’s around one in six rental properties. This is according to property industry consultancy TwentyEA. Agency’s 8th acquisition this year adds 500 properties to portfolio
PropTech-enabled agency Dwelly has made its eighth acquisition of 2026. It’s snapped up the lettings book of West MIdlands-based AP Morgan, which adds some 500 fully managed properties to its portfolio, which now approaches 14,000. The deal sees AP Morgan’s lettings business join the Dwelly group, whilst the founding team will retain the AP Morgan sales business. The existing lettings management team will remain in place.
Rightmove warns 14 enquiries per available rental home in some areas
The number of available rental homes dropped below the previous year’s level in the second quarter of 2026 – for the first time in four years. The data, from Rightmove, suggests that in the post-pandemic market, the number of homes to rent reached record low levels and had been steadily increasing since. However, the total number of homes to rent is now 1% lower than a year ago.
