Huntington attorney sentenced in $400K theft scheme
A Huntington attorney was sentenced Friday, having already pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny for stealing nearly $400,000 from clients, officials said. The defendant, Daphna Zekaria, of Syosset, pleaded guilty in May 2025 to stealing money from clients’ escrow accounts and using the funds for personal and business expenses, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney. On Friday, she was sentenced to six months in jail.
TileBar opens its first Long Island showroom in Manhasset
TileBar, a tile and bath retailer, has opened its first Long Island location in Manhasset. The company opened a two-story, 10,000-square-foot showroom at 1900 Northern Blvd., next to the Americana Manhasset retail center. The space was formerly occupied by Anthropologie.

Islip selects RXR for new MacArthur Airport terminal project

The town, which issued a request for qualifications in April 2025 for a developer to build and operate a new terminal at MacArthur, had selected a developer for the project, but it had yet to announce who that was.
Amazon plans new $1B facility in Holbrook
Amazon is planning to develop a $1 billion fulfillment center on 140 acres in Holbrook. The sprawling facility, which Amazon calls a first-mile sortable fulfillment center, will consist of a 4.2 million-square-foot building, with ceilings as high as 76 feet. The Holbrook center, which will also have a sub-same-day fulfillment center in an attached wing, will contain advanced robotics to sort and move packages, according to Brad Griggs, a director of economic development at Amazon.
