As a result, there exist different approaches to group (i.e., synthesize) primary research to answer specific research questions. One such approach is a scoping review. Scoping reviews are also referred to as “mapping reviews” or “scoping studies” and are considered a higher level of evidence than narrative reviews as a more rigorous and transparent methodology is employed.
