Jay’s DJ Pick of the Week is “The Thing” by Pokey LaFarge. Originally from Illinois, he moved to St. Louis in 2008 and started his musical career. He combines old-time rock and jazz, while taking inspiration from the music history of St. Louis. Released on June 23, 2026, this is his lead single for his upcoming album. He will release his new album on September 11, 2026, and is expected to have more of his americana/indie rock style. Dan’s DJ Pick of the Week is “Come Again” by Jim James.

This week the interns chose their favorite songs that have been released so far this year, halfway through the year that is! Gracie’s intern pick of the week is “dustland” by Truman Sinclair. Although he orginally released the song as a single in 2025, he also featured it on his 2026 EP, Rivers of Sugar and Blood. Currently based in LA, Sinclair is a Chicago-born singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer whose music blends indie rock, folk, and Americana influences.

It’s The615 time! This week Casey made sure to give plenty of air time to our local artist of the week, Allison Russell, and her song “Black Lavender”. He also highlighted these other amazing local artists: Sam Palladio, Airpark, Margo Price, Lovetta, and many more.

Lightning 100 is excited to announce Allison Russell and their song “Black Lavender” ft. Brittney Spencer as our Local Artist of the Week! “Black Lavender” featuring Brittney Spencer is a soulful and comforting song. The soothing track is about leaning on your “chosen sisters.” It advises listeners to give themselves grace and rest when they are tired. Russell released the song on Juneteenth to celebrate the support among black women for generations.

DJ Picks of the Week 6/30-7/3 Jay: “SWIM!!!” – BAILEN Jay’s DJ Pick of the Week is “SWIM!!!” by BAILEN! Released on June 24, “SWIM!!!” marks the sibling trio’s first new music in several years and kicks off a brand-new era for the band. Comprised of twins Daniel and David Bailen alongside their sister Julia, BAILEN blends indie rock, folk, and lush three-part harmonies into a sound all their own.

Ella’s Intern Pick is “Hypothetically Speaking” by Willow Avalon. Willow Martin, otherwise known as Willow Avalon, is an Americana country singer-songwriter. Currently signed to Atlantic Records, she released her debut EP, Stranger, in 2024, followed by her first album, Southern Belle Rasin’ Hell, in 2025. Now, she’s released her second album, Pink Pocket Pistol, in June of 2026, featuring the song “Hypothetically Speaking” with Kaitlyn Butts.

Local Artist of the Week "Mean Streets" Creamer Lightning 100 is excited to announce Creamer and their song “Mean Streets” as our Local Artist of the Week! “Mean Streets” is the lead single from Creamer’s latest album, Miracle Year.
