Lilly Broadcasting, LLC is a privately owned American broadcasting company owned and operated by the Lilly Brothers’ Brian Lilly and Kevin Lilly. The company was founded in September 1999 with the purchase of WENY-TV (ABC) and WENY-FM & AM radio. In 2002, Kevin Lilly purchased WSEE-TV (CBS) in Erie, Pennsylvania and have since added the CBS and The CW affiliates in Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and ABC in the Virgin Islands.
Brian and Kevin Lilly are the sons of George Lilly, whose SJL Broadcast Management (also previously known as the Montecito Broadcast Group) was founded in 1984 and based in Montecito, California. SJL owns WICU-TV in Erie and the two Companies purchased three TV stations from Gateway Communications in 2000, and four stations from Emmis Communications in 2005.
Lilly Broadcasting most recently with Sankety Advisors purchased KITV (ABC) in Hawaii.

Lilly Broadcasting is expanding its Washington D.C. bureau. Reporter Brendan Scanland will join television journalist Rachel Knapp at the bureau’s office on Capitol Hill. For the past two years, Scanland has covered government and politics for the company from the Pennsylvania Capitol in Harrisburg. Prior to joining Lilly Broadcasting, Scanland was a summer news associate in Washington. Knapp has served as Lilly’s correspondent on Capitol Hill since 2021.
WZMQ 19 News Establishes Michigan Capitol Bureau
WZMQ 19 News in Marquette is expanding with the addition of a new bureau at the Michigan Capitol in Lansing. Reporter Sophia Murphy will cover state government in Lansing. She will cover Michigan’s elected leaders, state senators and representatives from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and issues of importance to the U.P. Murphy joined the staff of 19 News last year while attending Northern Michigan University. Upon graduation, she was promoted to full-time as a multimedia journalist.
Lilly Broadcasting Adds FOX Affiliation in Guam
Lilly Broadcasting is pleased to announce it has added FOX 6 as the new affiliate for the FOX Television Network in Guam. FOX 6 joins ABC 7, which the company began operating in June of this year, and two other Lilly stations which serve Guam including CW IN and One Caribbean Television. Both FOX 6 and ABC 7 will broadcast local news and weather under the Guam News Now brand. FOX 6 popular primetime broadcasts include Hell’s Kitchen and WWE Friday Night Smackdown.
Lilly Broadcasting Launches New ABC Affiliate in Guam
Lilly Broadcasting Ventures is pleased to announce it will begin operations as the new affiliate for the ABC television network in Guam effective June 1. ABC7 will broadcast ABC’s top-rated World News Tonight and Good Morning America, plus great entertainment programs like Shark Tank, Abbott Elementary, The Bachelorette and American Idol. Network specials include the NBA Finals and the Academy Awards. The new station will be seen on channel 7 through cable systems Docomo Pacific and GTA Telegaum.
WZMQ 19 Honored with Award for Best Newscast
WZMQ 19 News was recognized as the winner of the Best Newscast award during the Michigan Association of Broadcasters annual Broadcast Excellence awards program. The station was presented with the honor April 29 at a ceremony in Detroit. The honor comes just months after the station - the Upper Peninsula's CBS and MeTV affiliate - began broadcasting its local news live from historic downtown Marquette in October. WZMQ competed in the market 4 group which includes Alpena, Escanaba and Marquette.

Erie News Now Earns 2 PAB Awards, 2 Emmy Award Nominations
Erie News Now (WICU/WSEE, Erie, Pa.) won two Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters (PAB) awards and earned two Emmy Award nominations for its work. PAB presented the award for Outstanding Television Feature Report to Economic Hardship reporter Jamison Hixenbaugh for his story on SNAP benefits in Pennsylvania. The story was also recognized with an Emmy Award nomination in the Business/Consumer News category.

Broadcasting publication TVNewsCheck featured Lilly Broadcasting's coverage of the Ukrainian refugee crisis from Poland in an article published Monday. During the 10-day trip, Washington D.C. reporter Rachel Knapp and Erie News Now (WICU/WSEE) photographer Brian Schnieders brought viewers live reports and produced daily packages and briefings for the company's stations in Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan and the Caribbean. Both are also working on a 30-minute special set to air in early April.
WZMQ Becomes Marquette, Michigan's New CBS Affiliate
Lilly Broadcasting is proud to announce it has been granted the CBS affiliation for the Marquette, Michigan, DMA starting Jan. 21. CBS programming will now be seen on WZMQ CBS 19.2 over-the-air and on traditional cable and satellite providers. They include: Spectrum channel 788 DISH channel 5 DirecTV channel 20 All of your favorite CBS programming and shows will continue with no disruption, along with CBS Sports coverage of the NFL and NCAA College Basketball including March Madness.
