Welcome in, friend. Gather close and make yourself comfortable. I’ve been allowing myself to let go of timelines. More specifically, I’ve been allowing myself to release the idea that projects of my creation have to be finished by a certain self-imposed date. Approaching projects this way is making me feel a healthy combo of refreshed, unstressed, and trusting. Instead of feeling the need to plot out every project and to-do list item, I’ve started to trust myself to follow through.
đ¸ Spring '24
Hey friend, Hope youâve been enjoying the first couple weeks of summer đ. As is tradition, below youâll find a round-up of resource recommendations from the past few months. This list reflects the books, essays, podcasts, shows, videos, and experiences that had a positive impact on me and others subscribed to The Pause over the past three months (thank you if you shared a rec with me â¤ď¸).
Rest
Welcome, dear friend. Come on in and make yourself comfortable. Rest. That’s what I’d love to dive into with you today. What’s your relationship with it? For the first time, arguably ever, I’ve developed an appreciation for rest that I’m proud of. My brain and body believe that it's ok to rest. It’s ok to take a break. It’s ok to do nothing.
Thirty-five
Welcome in, friend. Gather close and make yourself comfortable. It’s my birthday tomorrow. Thirty-five. I like the feel of it. My ritual is to watch the sunset the night before my birthday. Tonight was no different. As I was watching the sun sink toward the horizon, I caught myself reflecting on just how different I felt from three years ago when I was sitting on the same beach. Same beanie. Same jacket. Different person. The girl in the bottom picture has a well-earned resilient attitude.

The Unexpected
Welcome in, friend. Gather close and make yourself comfortable. February 29th, 2024?? Something about that date makes me want to watch Zenon and see how accurately it predicted the 2020s. A true trip for my eyes to behold. It’s been a week as you’ll soon see. I’ve been on an unexpected emotional rollercoaster. It hasn’t been easy, but it has also been rich. In practice. In knowing. In life.
Doing what feels good
Welcome in, friend. Gather close and make yourself comfortable. We made it. The conclusion of the first month of 2024. Congratulations. I’m leaving this month feeling good. Hopeful. Grounded. Present. Grateful. Calm. At peace. These emotions are presenting themselves more frequently as time and the commitment to practices of gratitude, movement, and meditation sink in. I’m excited about the future. I’m humbled by and indebted to the past. And I’m here, awake and open to the present. It feels good.
Peace within
Welcome in, friend. Gather close and make yourself comfortable. I’m grateful to be here in your inbox with you. I love the last day of the year—today gets to be the final page in this chapter of our human existence. Individually, we’ve had everything from transformative to mundane to exhilarating to excruciating years. We’ve grown. We’ve reverted. We’ve sometimes done both in the same day. We’ve come closer to ourselves. We’ve lost ourselves. We’ve found ourselves again. It’s all part of the ride.
đ Fall '23
Hey friend, Happy first few days of winter. Iâve been on a wintering vibe for a couple of months now, which has led me to some wonderful resource discoveries Iâm excited to share with you. As a reminder, this list reflects the books, essays, podcasts, shows, videos, and experiences that made a positive impact on me and others subscribed to The Pause over the past three months (a big thank you to those who shared your recs with me).
Life priorities
Welcome to The Pause, dear friend. Come on in and make yourself comfortable. I have been spending many of my recent days contemplating what it means to be here, now, on Earth. Less why am I here and more what am I meant to be experiencing as a person on Earth? I’ve been enjoying my recovery year. Finding more groundedness and answers in books like Build the Life You Want, Outlive, You Are Here, and shows like Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones. I’m feeling more calm. Less stressed. More alive.
