Wagers’ Return Worth It as Chillicothe Mudcats Top First-Place A’s
Chillicothe Mudcat Rafael Calcaño celebrates having circled the bases on one play to expand his team’s lead to 5-1 during the seventh inning of the team’s game at Trenton against the MINK League-leading Clarinda (Iowa) Athletics Tuesday (July 7, 2026). Calcaño sliced a triple past the right fielder and dashed home when the relay throw to third to try to retire him there got away. The Mudcats went on to win, 6-1.

Hawley Launches Investigation into Missouri Postal Service Downfalls
U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley has launched a congressional investigation into what he describes as systemic mail delivery failures in Missouri, citing years of delayed deliveries, abandoned mail, executive compensation and possible criminal activity within the U.S. Postal Service. In a June 30 letter to Postmaster General David Steiner, Hawley announced the investigation after expressing dissatisfaction with the Postal Service’s response to concerns raised during a recent Senate hearing.
