What a weird, hazy month in Pittsburgh! We thought our last issue was our “Big Summer Issue,” but we should’ve known better. Since then, we’ve added even moreupdates and events to the site, and we’re so excited to announce June’s Talk Pittsburgh Book Club pick! Yours in books, The Littsburgh Crew P.S. We’ve been seeing a ton of new visitors to the site these past few months.

Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit! It’s officially summer and we have so much going on in literary Pittsburgh (Zadie Smith is coming to town! StokerCon’s in Pittsburgh this year! So many new events added to Littsburgh’s calendar of literary events!) that we ran out of space in this email and have to keep our intro short again . . .

This is another big one: we’ve got our KDKA Talk Pittsburgh Book Club Pick, a couple of fantastic interviews with authors of regional interest, some big nonfiction by a local award-winning journalist, a Pittsburgh picture book, video spotlights, a whole bunch of new events added to our literary calendar . . .

The Greater Pittsburgh Festival of Books is back again on May 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the campus of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and will feature programming from a variety of genres including fiction, non-fiction, history, mystery, thriller, memoir and romance. The day’s events will include author talks, workshops, live performances, book signings, children’s activities, poetry readings, bookselling from local bookstores and literary fun for all ages.

It’s springtime in Littsburgh! It feels like we just sent out our last newsletter, but the site is bursting with new book launches and excerpts and library book sales and q&a’s with local and visiting authors . . . so we figured it was probably time for another one. If you haven’ve visited the site in a while, now’s a great time to click around and check it out.

If you were tuned into KDKA last week, you might have seen Littsburgh on Talk Pittsburgh! We’re going to be dropping in once a month to talk books and Pittsburgh (and Pittsburgh books) for the Talk Pittsburgh Book Club, and we’re really excited to be celebrating literary Pittsburgh in a whole new medium . . . so watch this space!
