Matthew is an avid traveler who calls Los Angeles home. Each year he travels more than 200,000 miles by air and has visited more than 135 countries over the last decade. Working both in the aviation industry and as a travel consultant, Matthew has been featured in major media outlets around the world. United Airlines Surprised Me With Excellent Coq Au Vin On A Redeye

For this week’s Meal of the Week, I am looking at a surprisingly delicious coq au vin served on my United Airlines redeye. While a little heavy for a midnight snack, it really hit the spot. I do not usually get too excited about redeye meals, especially on a short overnight flight from the West Coast to Chicago. The goal is usually simple: recline the seat and sleep as much as possible. The flight is usually in the air for less than four hours, making every moment of rest count.

Your Cancelled Flight May Not Count As Cancelled

DOT paused refund enforcement for renumbered flights while it rewrites what counts as a cancellation. The pause ends June 30. The definition fight matters. In October 2024, the Department of Transportation gave US travelers the strongest refund protection they have ever had. The automatic refund rule requires airlines to promptly return your money, not a voucher, when your flight is cancelled or significantly changed and you choose not to travel.

Allegiant Bought An Airline To Sell A Credit Card

Allegiant says the credit card is the real prize in its Sun Country deal. With United, Breeze, and American trimming service, the bet could hit turbulence. The Merger Closed, Followed By An Admission Allegiant completed its acquisition of Sun Country on May 13, a $1.5 billion deal including about $400 million of assumed debt that creates the largest leisure-focused airline in the US. The combined entity serves roughly 175 cities, more than 650 routes, and a combined fleet of 195 aircraft.

I really felt sad for my seatmate, who was engaged in a frenzied WhatsApp conversation on a flight up the California coast with his “girlfriend” that was impossible for me to avoid and left me very thankful that I am out of the dating game… This was on a flight from Southern California to San Francisco on an Airbus A320 jet, with 3-3 seating in economy class (my upgrade did not clear and his did not either). We were seated in the exit row and the middle seat between us was open.

Barking “Service Dog” Ruins My United Airlines Redeye Sleep

I know I sound like a broken record sometimes, but it seems like I cannot escape a trip without encountering a fake service animal, this time a barking dog on a United Airlines redeye flight. I was flying from Los Angeles to Chicago on a 777-200 redeye, a flight that had lie-flat seating which makes all the difference in the world even for a short four-hour overnight flight. I settled into my seat and noticed a man with a dog boarded.
