The mission of Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) is to provide programming that is intelligent, informative, educational and entertaining. LPB connects the citizens of the state by creating content that showcases Louisiana’s unique history, people, places and events.
LPB is a state network of six non-commercial television stations in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, and Shreveport licensed to the Louisiana Educational Television Authority (LETA), established in 1971 by the Louisiana Legislature. LPB is also affiliated with WLAE-TV in New Orleans.
LPB airs quality national PBS programming including PBS NewsHour, MASTERPIECE, NOVA, NATURE, Antiques Roadshow, Great Performances, as well the many educational programs from PBS KIDS. In addition to its main channel (LPB1), LPB and PBS have a 24/7 children’s channel (LPB2), and LPB and Create TV have a how-to and lifestyle channel (LPB3). Source

The State We're In
Louisiana: The State We’re In, Louisiana's only statewide news magazine, is in its 49th season on the air. The program airs Fridays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 4:30 p.m. on the six-station LPB network that includes stations in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, and Shreveport. This award-winning show combines in-depth coverage about the important issues in the state along with expert analysis.

Crawish: A Louisiana Way of Life Crawfish are a staple in Louisianans' diets and an emblematic symbol of our state's unique culture. This week, we visit Barry Toups at Crawfish Haven in Kaplan to learn how crawfish are farmed and the effect of the drought on this season. After boiling the crawfish for lunch, we interview members of Barry's community on the interrelationship between crawfish, Cajun culture, and the French language over their lifetimes.

When money started to seemingly disappear from its local branches, the government-owned UK Post Office wrongly blamed its own managers for the apparent loss. Hundreds were harassed, accused of theft and fraud, even sent to prison—leaving lives, marriages, and reputations in ruins. But the issue was actually caused by errors in the Post Office’s own computer system; something it denied for years.

The book by Sister Prejean recounts her experiences working as a spiritual adviser to two convicted murdered on Louisiana's death row. It went on to become a critically acclaimed movie and eventually, this opera.

The inauguration will be broadcast statewide on LPB’s six-station network, as well as WLAE-TV32 in New Orleans and WYES-TV, the PBS station for New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.
