MICHIGAN CITY — A school referendum is coming to the November ballot for taxpayers in the Michigan City Area Schools (MCAS). The MCAS Board of Trustees approved a resolution during Tuesday’s board meeting to propose a new operating referendum for the Nov. 3 general election.

La PORTE — The lineup has been announced for the 250th of America and the 80th La Porte Fourth of July parade, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of La Porte. The annual event kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4. Parade units are scheduled to travel the route along Lincoln Way and J Street, beginning at Tipton Street on the east end and proceeding west around the J Street curve toward Andrew Avenue.

JASPER — Ahead of Independence Day, Indiana Gov.
