LSU’s wide receiver room is gearing up for a battle in the real Death Valley, and offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. is bringing a full lineup of Wideout Warriors to the front line. Jayce Brown and Winston Watkins are coming into the season as two of LSU’s most experienced and explosive additions. Brown is not the tallest or fastest, but he is one of the smoothest route runners in this room.

LSU enters the new season with a changed coaching staff and several new faces across its defense, including a defensive front that could play an important role in helping the Tigers against Clemson. The Tigers added highly ranked freshmen Lamar Brown, Deuce Geralds and Richard Anderson to the defensive line. During their senior seasons in high school, the three combined for more than 150 tackles, 30 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.

When the transfer portal opened back in January, LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin wanted to go after a quarterback who had experience at the Power Four level and a dual-threat style of play. Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was the perfect candidate for Kiffin back in 2025 while coaching for the Rebels, and proved that recruiting a player like him created success in the SEC and College Football Playoffs. Kiffin wanted to do the same when he landed in Baton Rouge.

After appearing in the NCAA Division I Championships for the first time in team history, the LSU women’s cross country team will look to go even further in the 2026 season. The Tigers finished 23rd out of 32 teams at the national championship on November 22, 2025. This included a top-100 finish from then-freshman Abigael Chemnagei, making her only the second woman in university history to achieve the feat. Flotrack’s 2026 preseason rankings have the team ranked No. 17 in the nation.

After a historic offseason of switching from one SEC program to another, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin has become one of the most well-known names in college football. Continuing the hype all the way into Week 1 of the season, Kiffin’s new and improved program in Baton Rouge is the most talked-about team in the nation. He’s taken over at LSU, adding to his impressive career across multiple conferences and leagues.

McVoy Residential Hall, which can house up to 200 students, is not being used this year. Catherine David, associate director of communications and development for Residential Life, said McVoy is closed this academic year due to an intentionally smaller first-year class size. Public Relations Coordinator Zach Labbe said that the official enrollment number of freshmen this year is still not finalized.

LSU football has left tight end Dae’Quan Wright and defensive tackle Zxavian Harris off of its roster for Saturday’s opening game against Clemson. The Tigers’ roster was finalized for the game on Friday, after a 10-hour court hearing in Baton Rouge on Thursday granted Wright and Harris eligibility. Wright and Harris both spent time with NFL organizations during the professional league’s preseason this summer but did not make a 53-man roster.

What is professionalism as it relates to college sports? That question remains unanswered, even after nine hours of witness testimonies, arguments and deliberations on Thursday. The only question answered inside of Judge William Jorden’s courtroom was if 44 athletes would be able to play a fifth-year of collegiate athletics. The answer was yes. Courtroom 10C of the 19th Judicial Court of Louisiana was so packed that the 12 athletes in attendance had to sit in the jury’s seats.

Last Weekend was a significant moment for the music world, especially the women it revolves around. Created by Pop-Star Olivia Rodrigo, Daisy Chain Fields is the first of its kind, and one of the first major festivals to have an all-woman line-up. The festival functioned as a fundraiser for 10 non-profits that focus on protecting and improving the lives of women everywhere.
