I know what you’re thinking. You’ve come to LSX Magazine to see the latest and greatest install, tech, or late-model GM feature, only to find a Vintage Era sedan plastered across the top of the page. At first glance, that 1929 Cadillac LaSalle does look like a beautifully restored historical relic. But look a little closer, and you’ll see that almost nothing underneath the car is ninety-seven years old. Before we dive into this build, I’d like to highlight two things.
Set It And Forget It: Installing Dakota Digital’s Velocity Commander VCM-100 On An LS-Swapped Land Cruiser
Any time spent hanging around the LS-swap community provides quick answers to a variety of questions. For example, it’s fairly easy to explore topics like engine mounts, transmission adapters, ECU issues, cooling, and exhaust. But while LS swaps have become even more common than old school small-block swaps, every application still throws builders unique curveballs–especially if the world’s greatest swap engine is being dropped into something that didn’t roll off a GM assembly line.
Sleeper Silverado Build Hides A 1,500 Horsepower Twin-Turbo LS
Tolman Performance is closing in on a sleeper Silverado build. The truck looks like a mismatched shop rig, but it hides a twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter LS. Two GTX3582 turbochargers power the combination, and the truck should make 1,500 horsepower once it’s finished. Tolman expects mid-to-low nine-second quarter-mile passes once the truck hits the track. Reaching that point has taken weeks of fabrication work, and most of that work centers on the charge piping and the wiring it displaced.
Callaway Upgrades The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing To 780 Horsepower
Most performance enthusiasts consider the factory Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing a top-tier track weapon straight off the showroom floor, but speed addicts always crave more muscle. Answering that demand, Callaway Cars engineers developed the SC780 package to push Cadillac’s coolest supercharged luxury sedan to a higher level. This hardware swap turns an already potent four-door into an absolute monster. The modification program targets 2024, 2025, and 2026 models.
HP Tuners Unlocks C8 Corvette TCM Tuning: Here’s Everything You Can Now Adjust
With HP Tuners’ recent and highly anticipated release of Transmission Control Module (TCM) tuning support for the C8 Corvette’s transmission, a major gap in C8 tuning can finally be addressed. Previously, only the Engine Control Module (ECM) was unlocked, and the TCM’s shift and clutch-pressure behavior could not be directly modified. The new T46 support is described as applicable to every C8 Corvette model except the Grand Sport and Grand Sport X, pending validation on those variants.
Inside The Dual-Clutch Transmission That Redefined The Corvette: TREMEC’s TR-9080 (Part 1)
When General Motors unveiled the eighth-generation Corvette in 2019, it did so with a bombshell revelation that divided the enthusiast community: for the first time since 1982, America’s sports car would not offer a manual transmission. The decision was not a concession to comfort — it was a statement of intent.
Inside The Dual-Clutch Transmission That Redefined The Corvette: TREMEC’s TR-9080 (Part 2)
For Corvette enthusiasts, the C8’s dual-clutch transmission has always been something of a mystery. We all know it shifts with incredible speed, helping the mid-engine Corvette rip off sub-three-second 0-60 times and embarrass supercars costing three or four times as much. But very few enthusiasts understand how the TREMEC TR-9080 actually works, or why it’s arguably one of the most sophisticated transmissions ever installed in an American production car.
GM Announces The Summer 2026 Corvette Plant Tour Schedules
Hardcore Corvette enthusiasts finally have a chance to secure their spots on the assembly line floor now that the National Corvette Museum (NCM) has released its official summer Corvette plant tour schedules. Walking the floor of the Bowling Green Assembly Plant provides a rare view for fans who want to watch their favorite sports car roll down the production line. This exclusive access lets owners witness the birth of Chevrolet’s flagship performance machine up close and personal.
Project Swedish Meatball: Why You Need An Aftermarket Harness For Your LS Swap
Swapping a modern LS engine into a classic chassis is a massive undertaking, and wiring is usually the part that scares builders the most. Grabbing a dirty, brittle OEM wire loom from the junkyard might seem like a great way to save a few bucks. However, dealing with broken connectors and hidden shorts will quickly turn your dream project into a nightmare. Investing in a high-quality aftermarket harness is the smartest way to guarantee your new engine actually starts and runs reliably from day one.
