I thought it was about time for an update on Cornwall… There’s been a lot going on behind the scenes but very little to show for it thus far, which is kind of how it goes in that first year of planning and prepping but doesn’t make for riveting content. We (drumroll please) finally have a start date for the building work and will be kicking everything off in February (if I say it out loud it has to happen right?).

TV Lovers, we are heading into our prime…Have you watched Furious yet? One of the best, most original crime dramas I’ve seen in ages that centres the complexities of female rage across both sides of the cat and mouse game of cop trying to catch a killer. Less original but still a well-trusted Scandi Noir format I always appreciate, Blood Sacrifice was a gripping, very gory crime drama if that’s your sauce.

I saw Laurel Pantin do a similar post to this recently and it definitely resonated. Yes I work in fashion, she declared, but don’t always look like it. HARD RELATE. Working in fashion, doing fun photo shoots for brands or going to events, the imposter syndrome can rear it’s ugly head when real life me is mostly found in trainers, jeans and maybe even an anorak. So I thought I’d document what I wear in a week that is actually for doing life in rather than work-related events or hot weather holidays.

I find this time of year a weird time to get dressed in London. My body might be back in the city but my heart and mind is still in beach bum mode. I find myself leaving the house in some questionable choices that make me question my entire career by lunchtime. After a summer spent on British beaches and Greek Islands, coming back to London and trying to get dressed like a fully-functioning professional adult again can feel like writing with the wrong hand.

I’m clinging onto Summer with all I’ve got but I’d be lying if I said Autumn wasn’t in sight, and Autumn means house proud hibernation season. Our home over the summer becomes a dumping ground for suitcases, half-empty weekend bags and endless white washes and piles of ‘I’ll get to that later’. It’s been crazy hot this summer so all those big sorting out jobs and heavy lifting have been pushed to the back of the to-do list while we retreat to the coolest room of the house with a fan.

I’m not going to go over everything Greece related as all my tips per island I’ve picked up so far are all logged here. But I do have some key favourites to add in from this summer’s trip to our beloved islands… Our perfect little bolthole at Spina.

What got the most use, the most wear and the most love from our trip to Greece. Nearly 3 weeks, one (large) suitcase, six books read and lots of outfits… Shirt, Shorts, Bikini, Sunglasses The Books Starting off with the most important suitcase component of all, without which I really would be lost; the reading material.

My love for stripes is well-documented by now I think. From the dining bench in the kitchen to the headboard in our bedroom, I have a lot stripes at home. In fact, I think you might be hard pressed to find a single room without something striped in our house. I’m not sure if it’s beach towels, summer parasols, circus tents or Twister ice lollies, but stripes have always felt inherently nostalgic to me and better yet, they are endlessly versatile. If in doubt when decorating, I stripe.

I’ve just got home from a blissful 2.5 weeks in Greece (my instagram is still there, I’m so behind with posts) and while I catch my breath and gather together a post with suitcase MVPs, books read (six) and new discoveries on the islands, I have lots of other travel content to share after a busy month.

The only upside of a very wet June so far in London has meant a lot of culture has been consumed visually speaking. Dare I say I’ve actually relished the rain a bit. I travelled a stupid amount from March - May so have been loving being predominantly home-based, or more specifically sofa-based. Double-screening is inevitable so a lot of online scrolling, searching and shopping has also been undertaken simultaneously. The results of these noble endeavours and more are below….
