"I am..."
Salted (adjective): having developed a resistance to disease by surviving it. Hello, dear reader, The shortest of Sunday exercises for you today (you don’t even need to move from your comfy spot!) Perfect if you’re feeling a little weathered, a little too seasoned, a little too salted. If this month has been…challenging, so far. Let’s choose you a word to use as your lighthouse. Be somewhere quiet or pop your earbuds in. (No one even need know what you’re doing, if you don’t want them to).
Choose your 'Word of the Season'
The words that struck me in this post were "settle down" I have struggled with the pace of Oct-through Dec. every year, because it is overly consumerized. I have never had a peaceful, slow Advent. Settle down is two words, so my word is going to be "decelerate." Take the days more slowly, reducing social obligations. Avoid gluttonous meals and rich food that isn't healthy. Settle the garden down for winter. Create by painting within the season's inspiration.

Salted (adjective): having developed a resistance to disease by surviving it. A good, honest, wise friend said to me this week: It seems nature wants you to rest. (My friend is beautifully blunt, of German/Turkish heritage, and has never told me anything I didn’t need to hear, whether I wanted in fact to hear it or not. So, the absolute best kind of friend).

Leaning into the season of change
I only started using Notes a few months ago but I can really relate to what you’ve shared here about needing to regularly reevaluate the way I’m spending time here. I feel like I’m at maximum capacity when it comes to the number of publications I can keep up with if I want to do so from a place of genuine joy rather than feeling overwhelmed by the number of emails I’m receiving. In fact if I were to be completely honest with myself I’d probably need to lose a five to ten subscriptions.
