Boston — August 6, 2026 — The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) and Last Mile Education Fund today announced the launch of the National Math Talent Fund at MAA’s annual conference MAA MathFest. The fund is a five-year, $30 million initiative designed to help 10,000 mathematics and quantitative science students stay on track to graduate by 2031. It launches with founding support from Griffin Catalyst, Citadel, and Citadel Securities.

July 21, 2026 - Washington, DC - The United States team, organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), delivered an impressive performance in the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), held in Shanghai, China, from July 10 to July 20, 2026. The six high school team members earned four gold medals, a silver medal, and a bronze medal, and placed second overall among 117 participating teams from around the world.

Washington, D.C. — The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jason Rosenhouse, Professor of Mathematics at James Madison University, as the new Editor of The American Mathematical Monthly, one of the world's most respected journals of expository mathematics. Dr. Rosenhouse begins in the role of Editor-Elect on July 1, 2026 and will officially take on the role of Editor on January 1, 2027.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Christina Eubanks-Turner as the next editor of MAA FOCUS, the Association's flagship member magazine. Dr. Eubanks-Turner will join the MAA FOCUS team as Editor-Elect in August 2026 and begin her term as Editor in January 2027, succeeding Dr Allison Henrich who has guided the publication in that role since 2022.
